Service design and exploratory research for integrating patient lifestyle processes into hospital care.

Project trough MakerLab in dutch

"Hoe kunnen we het onderdeel leefstijl in het bestaande ziekenhuis process integreren?"

THE QUESTION

What can the hospital do to better support patients in making healthy lifestyle choices? This could help reduce the number of lifestyle-related cases and give doctors more time and space to focus on essential care.

DESIGN TOOLS

Using journey mapping, stakeholder mapping, and in-depth interviews with physicians to explore their role and ideal future within the care system using a designed 'gesprekstool'— as a foundation for designing targeted experiments.

IMPACT

Helping hospital stakeholders gain the motivation and a clear starting point to implement and test the value propositions identified in the research—ranging in risk level and investment required—and presenting a proposed experiment to move forward with.

    DESIGN PROCESS

    Phase 1

    Kick-Off

Identify and invite stakeholders. Prepare the kick-off with clear goals, scope, and materials. Finalize goals and scope together during the session.

    Phase 2

    Exploration

Plan and conduct interviews with a pulmonologist, cardiologist, and practice nurse using a research tool to design the ideal situation. Finally digitize results in Miro.

    Phase 3

    Analysis

Analyze individual conversations and capture key insights. Identify and detail opportunity areas, considering multiple perspectives, and propose a concept.

    Phase 4

    Co-Creation

Prepare a presentation and interactive elements to clearly show opportunity areas.
Host a co-creation session to present findings, align on conclusions, and define a concrete experiment.

    Phase 5

    Documentation

Document the co-creation session, finalize materials, and send a strategic advice report.
